I am majoring in journalism and minoring in English. My graduation is in the summer of 2026, but I will walk the stage in May. After graduation, I plan to pursue a master's degree in linguistics and language teaching. I want to teach foreign languages and help reshape university language curricula eventually. My short-term plan is to teach English as a second language in Fort Worth.

Although I do not plan to be a professional journalist, I am finding ways to enjoy my last semester by writing about topics that interest me. I started learning Spanish a little over a year ago and have become obsessed with language studies.  I have been focusing on stories that center around language and culture. I want to highlight bilingualism and multiculturalism, and how both of these ideas support student life and diversity on Campus.

My main experience is the position I’ve had at SMU Look, which I’ve had since freshman year. I started as a content creator and have worked my way up to becoming Director of Social Media. The main skills I hope to improve in this class are writing and storytelling. As I hope to author a book one day, I appreciate any opportunity to improve my writing skills. I also want to get better at telling powerful, engaging stories through all platforms, including writing and social media content.
